Celtic have a pre-contract agreement in place for the 20-year-old midfielder to move to Glasgow in the summer transfer window.

The midfielder is one of the last signings of Celtic’s outgoing head of football operations Nick Hammond, who has been criticised for his deals last summer.

The youngster will be walking into a club that is likely to undergo a major overhaul in the coming months under a new manager.

Pulis feels that the experience Shaw has garnered in the Championship, despite his age, makes him a brilliant signing for Celtic for the money they have paid for him.

However, he indicated Shaw’s start at Celtic is likely to be tricky and admitted that the arrival of a new manager and his recruitment will play a major role in how he does initially at Parkhead next season.

“The big thing with him, more than anything, is obviously experience and games”, Pulis told The Athletic.

“I personally think that for what they’re paying it’s a great signing for the football club.

“It’s just where Celtic go now, whether they’ll go and strengthen in that area with the new manager, and what that might mean for Shaw’s opportunities next season.

“But he’s a very, very good lad and he’ll work hard for those opportunities.”

With Scott Brown leaving Celtic, Shaw is likely to have a midfield space to fill in the team if he can impress during pre-season.
