Having contributed to 16 goals from 27 appearances for Nordsjaelland this term, the 19-year-old has attracted interest from Manchester United, Liverpool, Bayer Leverkusen and Club Brugge.

Dutch Eredivisie champions Ajax have also been keeping tabs on Sulemana and are keen to add the teenager to their ranks when the transfer window opens after failing to do so in the winter.

According to Dutch daily De Telegraaf, Ajax director of football Overmars has been in Denmark for the last few days to convince the forward to join Erik ten Hag’s side.

Overmars attended Nordsjaelland’s training sessions for four days and also held talks with Sulemana in an attempt to lure him to Amsterdam.

The former Arsenal star was also in attendance as the Ghana international scored for Nordsjaelland in their 2-2 draw against FC Copenhagen on Monday.

Overmars will be hopeful of reaching a verbal agreement with Sulemana before returning to the Netherlands.

It remains to be seen if Manchester United and Liverpool will step up their interest in the forward in the face of Ajax’s efforts to snap him up.
