Rangers managed to keep Kent away from the clutches of Leeds last summer, but the Whites have been tipped to go back in for his signature in the upcoming window.

The Scottish champions could be tested with a substantial offer for Kent, though they are believed to want to keep him ahead of a campaign in the Champions League.

Craigan believes Kent is Rangers’ biggest threat and indicated that the Gers do not look as dangerous when the former Liverpool winger is not playing well.

The former defender stressed there is far more to come from the player and believes if Rangers can hold on to him a little longer they are likely to get a big fee if and when he leaves Ibrox.

Craigan said on the Go Radio Football Show: “Who is the biggest threat during a game when you are playing against Rangers? I would imagine most opposition teams pinpoint Ryan Kent.

“The thing about him I like is there is more to come.

“He had a little dip after Christmas, Rangers as a team had a little dip with regards to the level of performances.

“They still won and drew games, they were comfortable, but they didn’t have the same spark that they had pre-Christmas.

“I think that coincided with him having a little dip in form.

“Suddenly when he started to up his performances – Antwerp away from home, he came on at half time and he absolutely lit the game up.

“There is more to come from him and if Rangers could keep him for another year to 18 months, I think they will see the best of him and the price tag could keep going north.

“Yes, he is a top-class player but there is so much potential to come.”

Rangers are believed to be working on offering Kent a new deal in order to prevent him from leaving this summer.
