The Dutchman has been on loan at PSV Eindhoven since 2016 and has been an integral part of the squad at the Phillips Stadion.

He is out of contract with Chelsea at the end of the season, but the west London club have an option to extend that deal by one more year if they want to do it.

Van Ginkel is happy with the Dutch giants and explained that so far Chelsea have said nothing over whether they want to take up the option to extend his contract for another year.

PSV Eindhoven are keen to sign him on a free transfer in the summer if Chelsea do not extend his contract and the Dutchman says that he feels content with life at the club.

Asked if Chelsea want to extend his contract, Van Ginkel told ESPN: “The mail must still be on its way, but I haven’t heard anything.

“[I] have always felt good and appreciated [at PSV Eindhoven].”

Chelsea signed him from Vitesse in 2013 but he made just four senior appearances for the club amidst numerous loan spells in Italy, England and the Netherlands.
