The 23-year-old has scored 15 goals and provided five assists from 31 league appearances for AZ Alkmaar this season, helping the side to a third place finish.

Koopmeiners’ performances for the Eredivisie outfit have seen him being linked with a move away from the club, with sides including Leeds and Liverpool said to be interested in snapping him up.

Addressing his future at AZ Alkmaar, Koopmeiners revealed that foreign clubs have expressed interest in him and confirmed that he is open to a move away from the Netherlands.

However, the midfielder explained that he is taking several factors into consideration and stressed that he will only agree to a move if the potential destination is a perfect fit for him.

Asked about a potential move away from AZ Alkmaar, Koopmeiners told Dutch daily the Algemeen Dagblad: “I think about it a lot.

And there is also quite a lot coming my way.

Foreign clubs are calling. I am open to that.

And I also said that to the coach.

It’s not going to distract me, but I am just playing my cards openly, even to the media.

I am looking at everything together at this point.

The country, the city, the language, the possibilities for my girlfriend, the coach.

It has to be perfect for me.

With Koopmeiners open to a move away from the Netherlands, it remains to be seen if Leeds or Liverpool will step up their interest in the midfielder.
