The Dutchman is out of contract at the end of the season and has so far not agreed to put pen to paper to an extension.

He could move on when his deal expires and has been consistently linked with Barcelona, while his agent has indicated the midfielder would be prepared to join Bayern Munich.

But no agreement is in place and it has been suggested that Wijnaldum remains up for grabs in the transfer window.

And according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, the midfielder is now on the radar of Serie A giants Roma for the upcoming transfer period after being proposed by an agent.

The Serie A giants are preparing for Jose Mourinho to take charge this summer and the incoming Roma coach wants significant reinforcements.

The Portuguese is believed to be keen on strengthening the Roma midfield and the club are now seriously considering a move for Wijnaldum.

With Wijnaldum being available on a free transfer the move could work for the cash-strapped Romans.

However, Wijnaldum could still want a big salary and the jury is out on whether Roma could satisfy his demands.
