The 19-year-old midfielder has featured 47 times for Ajax this season and has been named the Eredivisie Talent of the Year for his performances for the Dutch giants.

Gravenberch conceded that at the start of the season he was not expecting to play so many games for Ajax and feels he has been getting better with each passing day.

The youngster is keen to continue the hard work and keep working on his game in the coming days.

Gravenberch told Dutch daily De Telegraaf: “When I started the season I did not expect to play so much.

“My development has been increasing in steps and I have to keep doing that.”

Chelsea and Liverpool are amongst a host of clubs linked with having an interest in the Ajax talent ahead of the summer window.

But the teenager stressed that he wants to carry on at Ajax for the time being and will spend next season at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

“I just have to carry on like this and I have plans to stay at Ajax.

“Of course, I want to go for another season and show myself again in the next campaign.”

The player’s father recently advised him to stay at Ajax for longer.
