The Dutch midfielder is out of contract at Chelsea this summer and there are no signs that the Blues will take up the option to extend his deal by one more year.

Van Ginkel recently stressed that he has not heard anything from Chelsea about an extension and his ties with Stamford Bridge are set to end soon.

He has been on loan at PSV Eindhoven since 2016 and has more or less become part of the furniture at the Phillips Stadion.

And according to Dutch magazine Voetbal International, the midfielder and PSV are set to soon sit down for talks over a permanent deal.

PSV coach Roger Schmidt is a big fan of Van Ginkel and wants the club to keep hold of the player beyond the end of his current loan stint.

The Dutchman is also happy at PSV and is expected to prioritise staying at the club on a permanent deal.

Van Ginkel has made just four senior appearances for Chelsea despite being in their books since 2013.
