The 20-year-old joined Steve Cooper’s side on a season-long loan from Chelsea last summer following a short spell at the Championship club last season.

Guehi went on to establish himself as a regular starter for the Swans and has helped the side book a place in the Championship playoff final against Brentford.

Reflecting on his loan spell at Swansea, the Chelsea defender expressed his delight at how things have gone for him at the Liberty Stadium so far.

Guehi, who is aware of the need for him to play games, dubbed his loan stint with Swansea this season fantastic and pointed out how the spell has helped him make strides forward as a player.

[I’ve grown] massively“, Guehi was quoted as saying by Wales Online.

It’s really important for someone like me to come to the Championship and play as many games as possible.

Last season I didn’t play that many, but this season thankfully and fortunately I have played a lot of games and really enjoyed my time here, it’s been fantastic.

The Chelsea loan star also extended his gratitude towards Cooper and co for giving him the opportunity to develop as a player at Swansea this season.

Amazing, I’ve been given the opportunity, by the gaffer, by the staff, so to come here and really try to excel in my game, I’ve got fantastic team-mates who want to help me every single day“, Guehi said.

We’ve got a good mixture of youth and experience, the older lads have really helped me, given me the right advice in games and in training.

“It’s just a fantastic feeling being here at Swansea.

Having helped the Swans to the Championship playoff final, Guehi will now be looking to help the side earn promotion to the Premier League.
