The Frenchman joined Atletico Madrid on loan from Lyon in the winter transfer window, but he has struggled in Spain, making just five La Liga appearances and not hitting the back of the net.

Atletico Madrid have an option to make the move permanent for a fee of €33m, but the club are not interested in keeping the striker in the Spanish capital.

With La Liga over, Dembele is scheduled to return to Lyon in the summer as part of the agreement.

But according to French sports daily L’Equipe, the hitman is in no mood to return to Lyon following his experience in Spain.

He is keen to move on from the French giants and try another experience even if Atletico Madrid do not want to sign him on a permanent deal.

A move to England could be a possibility as Arsenal are interested in taking him to north London this summer.

Mikel Arteta wants to add more goals to his squad and Dembele has been identified as a target.

But with Arsenal not in Europe, it remains to be seen whether a move to the Emirates appeals to the Frenchman.
