The 21-year-old centre-back’s future at RB Leipzig is under the scanner with suggestions that he is on his way to Liverpool this summer.

There is still no clarity over his future and RB Leipzig have reportedly told the defender to make up his mind by the end of the month.

He has a buy-out clause worth €40m in his contract, which makes it a straightforward deal to do, but Konate is yet to sort out his future.

And according to German magazine Kicker, his suitors will have to pay more than that reported release clause figure to take him out of RB Leipzig.

It has been claimed that the final figure is likely to stand at €46m, including add-ons and bonus payments.

RB Leipzig can do little if a club decide to pay that figure but they have not lost hope of holding on to Konate.

The German club are prepared to offer him a new contract if he decides to stay next season.

It remains to be seen whether Liverpool make a move for the young defender in the coming weeks as they head into the transfer window.
