Darren Moore is looking to reshape his squad at Hillsborough over the course of the rapidly approaching summer transfer window, with the Owls looking to quickly get out of League One.

Boyle impressed as part of a Cheltenham side that won promotion to League One this season and caught the eye of Sheffield Wednesday, who scouted him before he suffered a knee injury at Easter.

However, the Owls have now cooled their interest in the defender and are instead looking at other targets, with an emphasis on free agents and the loan player pool.

Boyle has a further year to run on his Cheltenham contract and would have cost Sheffield Wednesday a fee.

The 25-year-old came through the youth ranks at Huddersfield Town and, following a series of loan spells away, signed for Cheltenham on a permanent deal in 2017.

He is a key man at Whaddon Road and the Robins may be relieved that Sheffield Wednesday are backing off.

Cheltenham conceded 39 goals in 46 games in League Two this season as they claimed the league title.
