Spurs had a season to forget as in addition to finishing the campaign without any silverware, they only managed a seventh-place finish in the Premier League, qualifying for the Europa Conference League.

The north London outfit could witness a sea of change over the summer with them on the lookout for a new manager, while several players including Harry Kane, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Serge Aurier and Dele Alli are all linked with exiting the club.

Ex-Spurs star Berbatov is of the view that Tottenham have a chance to end their trophy drought by going all the way in the Europa Conference League, however stressed they need to start all over again.

Berbatov explained Spurs need to find more consistency in getting results, something which they have struggled with in a disappointing 2020/21 campaign.

“I’m tired of talking about trophies with Spurs. I’m not happy with their standing in the league table, they have quality to do more than that, I’m sure they are disappointed”, Berbatov wrote in a column for betting.betfair.

“Listening to Kane’s interviews, he wants to win trophies.

“He is scoring goals, but no trophies and he will be disappointed with Spurs’ league position.

“Spurs have a chance of a trophy in the Conference League, but they need to start all over again

“Every pundit was saying halfway through the season that Spurs could go all the way and if not be champions, be in the top four race.

“It just comes down to a consistency factor.

“They needed to keep winning games and winning ugly but it was not happening.

“They kept surrendering their leads and they ended up being disappointing.”

All eyes will be on whether Kane will remain at his boyhood club for another season with the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea all floated as potential destinations for the wantaway hitman.
