The Yorkshire giants swooped to snap Greenwood up from Arsenal last summer and slotted him into the Under-23 ranks.

Greenwood was in prolific form for the Whites’ Under-23s this season, scoring 12 goals in 18 appearances in the Premier League 2.

The youngster already has a senior appearance for the Whites under his belt, making an appearance for Bielsa’s side in an FA Cup tie against Crawley Town.

His displays have not gone unnoticed and several Championship sides wanted to sign Greenwood on loan in the recent season.

However, Leeds boss Bielsa rejected the idea of letting the former Arsenal man move away on loan as he wanted to keep him at Elland Road.

The Whites may reassess the situation this summer if Championship clubs come calling again for Greenwood.

Greenwood’s current contract with the club runs until the end of the 2022/23 season and loaning him out would give Leeds the chance to see him in senior action on a regular basis.
