The 22-year-old spent the 2020/21 season on loan at Anderlecht and helped the side qualify for Europe, scoring 18 goals and providing three assists in the Belgian top flight.

Having been impressed with Nmecha, Anderlecht are keen to retain his services beyond his loan contract, while other European clubs are also said to be interested.

Anderlecht have been in talks with Manchester City, but Nmecha’s future still lacks clarity and the striker is currently not focused on it, according to his entourage.

Nmecha’s entourage have insisted that the Manchester City star will not turn his attention to a potential transfer before his European Championship run with Germany’s Under-21s comes to an end.

As long as Lukas has international obligations, he can’t be busy thinking about next season“, Nmecha’s entourage told Belgian daily Het Laatste Nieuws.

Only when Germany is eliminated or the European Championship is over will Lukas’ attention turn to a possible transfer.

Nmecha scored in Germany Under-21s’ victory over Denmark on Monday and will be hoping to help the side book a place in the final of the competition when they face the Netherlands on Thursday.
