The Goodison Park outfit have been forced into looking for a new manager after Carlo Ancelotti left the club to take charge of Real Madrid on Tuesday.

Keen to waste no time in bringing in a replacement for the Italian, Everton have already been linked with a host of names, including former manager David Moyes.

However, the Merseyside-based club appear to have zeroed in on former Wolves boss Nuno as the ideal candidate to fill the void left by Ancelotti.

Having identified Nuno as a potential person to take the club forward, Everton are set to open talks with the coach and his representatives today.

Nuno, who has brought his four-year association with Wolves to an end, is currently in Portugal.

The Portuguese tactician is also on Crystal Palace’s list of options to replace Roy Hodgson and has already held a series of talks with the London-based club.

Despite leaving Wolves at the end of the 2020/21 season, Nuno is likely to continue in the Premier League next season, with Everton and the Eagles keen to acquire his services.
