Celtic loaned out the centre-back to the Belgian outfit last summer and he was hailed as nothing short of brilliant at Oostende last season.

He earned the Player of the Year award at Oostende for his performances and the club are now working towards taking up the option on him.

A €1.5m buy option was agreed when the loan was worked out with Celtic last summer and Oostende are moving towards getting it over the line.

According to Belgian daily Het Nieuwsblad, Oostende have already offered Hendry a long-term contract in order to sort out his future.

The defender has enjoyed playing in Belgium and is willing to accept the offer from Oostende.

He is currently with the Scotland squad for their European Championship campaign and will soon look to finalise his future.

But there are claims that Hendry might not play at Oostende next season even if they take up the option.

The Belgian club are considering cashing in on Hendry this summer and earning an instant profit.

Oostende are expected to demand a premium price if they decide to sell Hendry in the next transfer window.
