Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has identified signing another right-back as a priority in order to provide competition to Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The Manchester United manager also wants the new right-back to be a better attacking option than Wan-Bissaka and Trippier has been his target for several months.

A move in January was mooted before Trippier was handed a ten-game suspension and Manchester United have revived their interest in the former Tottenham star in the summer.

It has been claimed that Manchester United have commenced negotiations with Atletico Madrid over signing the defender.

Trippier has a year left on his contract and is keen to move back to England after spending two years at Atletico Madrid, where he won the league this season.

The defender is ready to head back to the north west.

It has also been claimed that the player is looking for houses in Manchester, in a clear indication of his potential return to England.

Atletico Madrid are open to selling him and are hoping to get a good fee from his departure.
