The Italian deal-maker has left his role at Juventus and is poised to be appointed as Tottenham’s new director of football as he quickly returns to the game.

And he will be intimately involved in Tottenham’s hunt for a new manager after talks with Antonio Conte collapsed.

Spurs held talks with the former Inter and Chelsea boss, but eventually both sides decided there was little point in continuing due to differences of opinion.

Paratici will have a big say on who Tottenham eventually appoint and he may have his own ideas as to who should now be within the club’s sights.

Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag are joint-favourites in the betting to become the next Tottenham boss.

Paris Saint-Germain however are keen to keep hold of Pochettino, who only took the coach’s job earlier this year.

And Ten Hag only recently put pen to paper to a new contract at Ajax.
