Ntcham joined Celtic from Manchester City for £4.5m in 2017, but has struggled to live up to expectations during his four-year spell at the club.

Marseille gave Ntcham a chance to shine by signing him on loan for the second half of last season, but he struggled to find his footing, leading the French club to pass up on the option to buy him.

With Marseille refusing to take up the option to sign Ntcham permanently, he is due to return to Celtic for pre-season, but could be on his way out of the club soon.

Greek outfit AEK Athens are interested in acquiring the services of Ntcham, who has entered the final year of his contract with Celtic, this summer.

And according to Greek outlet Sportime, the former Manchester City youth star is in Greece and has held a meeting with AEK Athens officials ahead of a potential transfer.

Ntcham appears to be edging closer to putting an end to his four-year association with the Hoops as a transfer to AEK Athens seems to be in the pipeline.

There have been suggestions that Celtic could allow the Frenchman to leave for free, but it remains to be seen if the club will try to negotiate a fee with AEK Athens in order to sign off on the transfer.
