The Spaniard was on Liverpool’s books for seven years, but joined French outfit Nantes on a free transfer following the expiry of his deal with the Reds last year.

Chirivella put pen to paper on a three-year deal with Nantes and went on to make 35 appearances across all competitions for the Ligue 1 side in 2020/21.

The midfielder has now admitted that he is feeling very satisfied on a personal level as he has made strides forward as a footballer since leaving Anfield.

Chirivella recalled making a few appearances for the Reds in his last season at the club, but insisted that he is delighted to have clocked regular game time for Nantes in the season gone by.

I am very satisfied on a personal level because it has been a year where I have grown a lot as a footballer“, Chirivella told Radio Esport Valencia.

It is true that in the last season at Liverpool I played some games, but in the end it was only once a month.

This season I have played 35 [matches] and I have felt very good in a very difficult season.

Chirivella made six senior appearances for Liverpool in the 2019/20 season, but has established himself as a regular starter for Nantes in France.
