The 22-year-old spent the 2020/21 season on loan at Anderlecht and enjoyed a fruitful campaign, scoring 21 goals and providing three assists across all competitions.

Having been impressed by Nmecha’s performances, Vincent Kompany’s side have been looking to retain his services beyond his loan contract.

However, Anderlecht’s hopes of extending their association with the German were dealt a blow, with the player informing the club that he is not interested in returning.

And according to Belgian daily Het Laatste Nieuws, Anderlecht’s league rivals Club Brugge also made an attempt for Nmecha, offering Manchester City a multi-million deal.

Club Brugge are said to have approached Manchester City with an offer, but do not currently stand a chance of signing Nmecha, like league rivals Anderlecht.

The Germany Under-21 international has made it clear that he has opted for a project at a Bundesliga club, though it is unclear which side.

Nmecha, who has only one more year remaining on his Manchester City contract, is now expected to move to Germany this summer, but it remains to be seen who will acquire his services.
