The Gli Azzurri have entered a new era of leadership having roped in Luciano Spalletti as their new coach and are looking to bolster their squad in the ongoing transfer window.

Signing a new midfielder is on Spalletti’s transfer agenda and it has been claimed Napoli have zeroed in on Spurs star Sissoko.

The Frenchman has not ruled out the possibility of leaving the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer and Napoli have been touted as a potential destination.

However, according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli hold no interest in a move for the 31-year-old.

The Serie A giants are on the hunt for a midfielder, but their top target is Sheffield United ‘s Sander Berge, who is tipped to cost around the €10m mark, and not Sissoko.

Sissoko’s current deal at Spurs runs through until the summer of 2023, but it has been suggested chief Daniel Levy could opt to ship him off on a loan spell next term, with him having barely featured during the business end of the season gone by.

It remains to be seen whether Sissoko will receive any offers in the coming weeks, but Napoli will not be among the interested parties with a move for him ruled out.
