Sporting Lisbon star Rosier spent the season gone by on loan at Turkish giants Besiktas and played a key role in helping them clinch the domestic double.

The 24-year-old right-back is again linked with leaving the Lisbon outfit this summer, although on a permanent basis, with Ligue 1 outfit Marseille and Scottish Premiership giants Celtic among his admirers.

Marseille have been in talks with Sporting Lisbon over a move for Rosier and are close to dragging a deal over the line, with the player tipped to be available for a cut-price fee of €7m.

However according to Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, the Hoops are trying to hijack Marseille’s move for Rosier and have tabled an offer for him.

Celtic are in the midst of a rebuilding process under Ange Postecoglou and are trying to make Rosier among the new boss’ first recruits at Celtic Park.

Everton loanee Jonjoe Kenny struggled to convince at right-back during his six-month loan stint at Celtic last season, while they also saw Jeremie Frimpong leaving for Bayer Leverkusen in a £11.5m deal in January.

It remains to be seen whether Celtic can rope in Rosier to bolster the right-back position ahead of a campaign in which they aim to reclaim the top flight crown from rivals Rangers
