Wilson spent last season out on loan at Cardiff City, where he impressed by scoring seven goals and recording 12 assists in 37 Championship appearances.
The young winger is a product of the Reds academy, but has only ever made two appearances for Liverpool’s senior team as they have sought to develop him via loan spells.
Even with his impressive form for Cardiff last time out, Wilson is not in the picture at Anfield and Liverpool are looking to cash in on him.
Liverpool held talks with Benfica over a sale following an official approach from the Portuguese side, but their valuation of £13m is a sticking point.
Talks were held, but have now been stopped, though Liverpool are expecting Benfica to return for more discussions.
Apart from Benfica, newly-promoted Premier League side Brentford as well as West Bromwich Albion are also interested in Wilson.
Wilson’s contract with Liverpool runs through until the end of the 2022/23 season, but if he does move away from Anfield this summer, he would end an association with the Reds that has lasted for more than 15 years.
