Having seen talks with multiple candidates come undone for the Tottenham hot-seat, managing director of football Fabio Paratici is now edging closer to sealing a deal with ex-Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Nuno.

Although the Portuguese was not Spurs’ top target initially, Paratici is a firm admirer and feels he is the right man for the managerial role at the club.

Despite their struggles in finding a new boss, Spurs’ efforts in the transfer market have been cranked up under Paratici and they have identified Sevilla starlet Kounde as their top target to bolster the centre-back position.

Kounde is open to a move away from the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium in the ongoing window as he wants to join a bigger club, but Sevilla are keen on keeping him.

The Frenchman has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League this summer with Chelsea and Manchester United keen on him and Spurs have also joined the race for his signature.

Los Nervionenses are not prepared to let Kounde go for anything less than their £55m asking price, with the player contracted at the club until the summer of 2024.

Spurs are tipped to make a move for Kounde as soon as they have a new man at the helm, who as it stands will be Nuno.
