Kabak played for Liverpool in the second half of last season, arriving on loan from Schalke but the Reds opted to not trigger his £18m purchase option.

Schalke have put the Turk up for sale this summer in hopes of raising funds, following the club having suffered relegation from the Bundesliga.

And Kabak could be handed an opportunity to return to the Premier League, with Tottenham looking for a defender and claimed to hold an interest in him, while Newcastle admire him, and Leicester could be an option.

Schalke sporting director Schroder believes his club have placed Kabak in such a way in the transfer market that he can find a new club in a timely manner and stressed he hopes the player will earn opportunity to test himself at a higher level.

“Next Monday will be a special day”, Schroder told German magazine Kicker.

“It is the day on which he [Kabak] will join us in training after his vacation.

“Ozan is positioned in the transfer market in such a way that I believe that the transfer can work in a timely manner.

“We can assume that, whatever his own aspirations and goals [are at the moment], he will face greater challenges.”

Kabak is open to a move back to the Premier League but it remains to be seen any among Spurs, the Magpies or the Foxes will open the door for him, with the player also claimed to want a substantial pay packet.
