Aouar was a serious target for Arsenal last year but they never came close to matching Lyon’s valuation of the midfielder.
The 23-year-old midfielder has again been linked with a move to the Gunners in the ongoing transfer window with suggestions that they have revived their interest in him.
Arsenal’s interest in the Frenchman cooled following some less than favourable reports on him in the first half of last season.
Some within the club still believe that he is an affordable option given the financial crisis French clubs are going through.
But there are no suggestions that a move for Aouar is imminent in the ongoing transfer window.
While Arsenal were very keen last summer, things have changed a year down the line and there is no consensus within the club about a move for Aouar.
Arsenal are also likely to wait until later in the window to sign another attacking midfielder as they still hope Martin Odegaard’s situation at Real Madrid changes.
