Raphinha’s arrival last summer meant Costa lost his automatic place in the Leeds starting eleven last season and he made just 13 starts in the Premier League.

Leeds are also in the market for another winger and that has led to speculation over the Portuguese’s long-term future at Elland Road.

There are no noises coming out of Leeds about his imminent departure, but clubs are now claimed to be alive to his situation at Elland Road.

It has been claimed that Valencia are amongst several clubs in Spain who are keeping close tabs on Costa this summer.

He is being closely monitored with suggestions that Leeds could let him go if they bring in a winger later in the window.

Costa is an important member of Marcelo Bielsa’s squad at the moment but could become surplus to requirements if they bring in another winger.

The 27-year-old has suitors in La Liga and he could be open to moving to Spain where he previously played for Deportivo La Coruna.

However, Leeds are yet to receive any formal offers on their table for Costa this summer.
