Thiago spent the early years of his football career at La Liga side Barcelona and then went on to have a seven-year spell at Bundesliga club Bayern Munich.

Having enjoyed successful stints with Barcelona and Bayern Munich, Thiago joined Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool last summer, but struggled during his first season at the club.

Despite having a largely underwhelming start to his life at Anfield, Thiago’s reputation in the footballing world remains intact, with his former Bayern Munich team-mate Dorsch hailing him as a world class player.

Dorsch, who now plays for Augsburg, revealed that he looks up to Thiago as a footballer and went on to explain how the Spain international puts his rare abilities to perfect use.

In terms of football, also related to my position, Thiago has always been a player that I look up to, that I also want to learn from“, Dorsch told German magazine Kicker.

He is absolutely world class, of course, you want to get there.

If you experience it [Thiago’s quality] first hand, you will also know what is behind it.

This elegance, how he handles the ball, how he moves to make himself room.

Without looking, he knows what is going on behind him.

These are skills that are not found that often in the world.

He knows how to use these gifts perfectly.

Dorsch shared the pitch with Thiago once during his time at Bayern Munich, who he left to join Heidenheim in 2018.
