The Potters are keen on bolstering their attack this summer as they gear up for a promotion charge in the Championship.

Stoke boss Michael O’Neill has zeroed in on Aston Villa hitman Davis, who is heavily linked with leaving Villa Park in the ongoing transfer window.

The 23-year-old has as many as nine different admirers in the Championship and Stoke have already held talks with Aston Villa over him.

However, the Lions are yet to take a decision on the striker’s future with him appearing to be not short of suitors at the moment.

Any move for Davis is likely to be a few weeks away but Stoke are hoping they can beat off competition for his signature.

The marksman only registered one start in the Premier League last term and could be handed an opportunity to clock up game time more regularly in the Championship in the upcoming season.

Stoke were linked with interest in Davis in the last transfer window and it remains to be seen whether they will manage to snap him up this time around.
