The Premier League giants finally confirmed the signature of the 21-year-old England winger from Borussia Dortmund on Friday.

Manchester United have had an agreement in place with Dortmund for a fee of €85m for some time and Sancho even underwent a medical just after the European Championship.

But some paperwork held up the move until Friday and Solskjaer expressed his delight at finally getting the deal over the line.

He stressed that Sancho is the kind of player who will love Manchester United because of his attacking abilities and is certain that he will be an integral part of the team for years to come.

The Manchester United manager feels Sancho already showed massive bravery when he left Manchester City to join Dortmund when he was just a teenager and believes Old Trafford is the perfect stage for him to thrive.

Solskjaer told the club’s official website: “Jadon epitomises the type of player I want to bring to the club, he is a forward player in the best traditions of Manchester United.

“He will form an integral part of my squad for years to come and we look forward to seeing him blossom.

“His goals and assists records speak for themselves and he will also bring tremendous pace, flair and creativity to the team.

“Old Trafford will give him the platform he needs to release his untapped talent and perform at the highest level.

“For a player of his age, Jadon has already achieved a great deal and showed the courage to go and prove himself abroad.

“We all look forward to welcoming Jadon to the squad as we prepare for the new campaign.”

Sancho has signed a five-year contract with Manchester United with an option of another year.
