The Eagles are looking to bolster their squad for the start of the Vieira era and have focused in on Lyon defender Andersen as a target.
He impressed while on loan at Fulham last season, despite not being able to help the Cottagers avoid relegation to the Championship.
Several clubs have been linked with Andersen this summer, including Tottenham Hotspur, but the defender is close to joining Palace.
It is claimed that Andersen held great talks with new Crystal Palace boss Vieira and underwent a medical in Greece, where he was on holiday, on Friday.
The Eagles will pay £19m to sign Andersen from Lyon, with a further £4m potentially due in add-ons as part of the deal.
Andersen will add to Vieira’s defensive options at Selhurst Park and comes in with Premier League experience due to his time at Fulham.
The 25-year-old was signed by Lyon from former Italian champions Sampdoria in 2019.
