The Serie A club could only manage a 13th place finish last season, but Vlahovic took the league by storm, scoring 21 goals and providing two assists from 37 games.

Vlahovic’s performance for Fiorentina last season saw him attract transfer interest from several clubs, including Premier League duo Liverpool and Tottenham, who continue to be linked with wanting him.

La Viola have been trying to hold off interest in Vlahovic by convincing him to sign a new deal, but are yet to reach an agreement with the striker.

Addressing Vlahovic’s contract situation, Fiorentina general director Barone revealed that the club are constantly in touch with the Serbian and are hopeful of reaching an agreement soon.

Vlahovic is a Fiorentina player, a very important player“, Barone was quoted as saying by Italian outlet Tutto Mercato.

We are continuing to communicate every day and obviously, we hope to reach an agreement with him as soon as possible.

Vlahovic has two more years remaining on his contract with Fiorentina, who are keen to see the striker commit his long-term future to the club, amidst links with Liverpool and Spurs.
