The Reds have signed Ibrahima Konate to bolster their defensive options, but the jury is out on whether the club will make any more additions as they continue to watch their expenditure.

The Merseyside-based club have been linked with a host of midfielders this summer, including Ajax’s Ryan Gravenberch and Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez.

One midfielder who Liverpool are said to have scouted heavily is Neuhaus, who was part of Germany’s national team at the recently concluded European Championship.

Liverpool manager Klopp is a huge admirer of the 24-year-old and has reaffirmed his interest in him recently, according to German television channel Sport1.

Neuhaus is also aware of the German tactician’s interest in him, but has been rated as likely to stay at Borussia Monchengladbach this summer.

Despite Liverpool being interested in the Germany international, the Reds currently do not have a place to offer in their squad, it is claimed.

The Anfield outfit currently have 17 non-homegrown players in their squad and have to sell or loan one out to make space for a non-homegrown player like Neuhaus.

Xherdan Shaqiri is tipped to leave Liverpool soon and it remains to be seen if his departure could see the Reds step up their interest in Neuhaus.
