Greenwood scored from another sumptuous free-kick as Leeds beat Guiseley in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday.

Previously at the Sunderland academy, Greenwood joined Leeds from Arsenal last summer and made his senior debut for the club last season in an FA Cup game.

He scored 12 times for Leeds in the Premier League 2 and was a constant threat from free-kick situations around the box.

Elliott stressed that Greenwood has the ability to score consistently from free-kicks and lavished praise on his technical qualities from dead-ball situations.

The former Ireland star took to Twitter and wrote: “Not only is this lad a good player but I’d say he would nearly guarantee you at least 6-8 goals a season from free-kicks.

“Ridiculous technique. So consistent with them.”

Greenwood has trained with the first team at Leeds but has mostly played for the Under-23s thus far.

He will hope to make more of an impression on Marcelo Bielsa and make a few more senior appearances next season.
