Chelsea are prepared to loan Gallagher out this season as they look for him to continue to clock up first team experience after spending last term at Swansea City.

Three Premier League sides have been chasing Gallagher’s signature, with Crystal Palace, Leeds and Newcastle all wanting to add him to the ranks.

However, it the Eagles who have won the race for Gallagher, with Leeds and Newcastle missing out on the player.

A move to Palace will keep Gallagher in London as he bids to impress Chelsea during his time away on loan.

Leeds gave the player a lengthy presentation in a bid to convince him where he would fit in at Elland Road, but Gallagher was not sold on the Whites.

He could have potentially clocked regular game time at St James’ Park under Steve Bruce, however the Magpies’ search for midfield reinforcements goes on.

Bruce is shopping in the loan market this summer as he aims to strengthen his squad; he is keen to bring Joe Willock back from Arsenal.
