The 25-year-old has entered the final two years of his contract with Wolves and is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal despite holding talks with the club.

Traore’s contractual situation at Molineux has led to suggestions that he could leave Wolves during the ongoing transfer window, with Leeds long time admirers.

It was claimed on Friday that the Yorkshire-based club have stepped up their interest in the Spain international by approaching Wolves with a £30m offer.

However, Wolves have received no such offer from their Premier League rivals for Traore, who was part of Spain’s squad at the European Championship this summer.

While it appears Leeds have not made an offer for the former Barcelona youth star, it remains to be seen if they have plans to make one later in the window.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side are currently looking to sign a new midfielder and have already missed out on the signing of Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher, who has joined Crystal Palace on loan.

It has been suggested that Leeds could sign a winger towards the end of the transfer window, which runs until 31st August.
