The defender, who made just nine Premier League appearances for the Red Devils last season, is likely to fall further down the pecking order following the arrival of Raphael Varane.

With Tuanzebe facing the prospect of getting limited playing time at Old Trafford next season, Manchester United are open to loaning him out during the ongoing transfer window.

Newcastle have been claimed to be leading the race to sign the 23-year-old, while Dean Smith’s Aston Villa are also said to be interested in taking him on loan.

However, Tuanzebe’s suitors will have to fork out a sum of £5m to acquire his services on a temporary basis from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side this summer.

Manchester United want the substantial sum of £5m to cover the centre-back’s wages over the season and provide a loan fee to go into their coffers.

The Old Trafford outfit also do not plan to lower their demands for Tuanzebe, who spent a season and a half on loan at Aston Villa between 2018 and 2019.

It remains to be seen if either Aston Villa or Newcastle are prepared to meet Manchester United’s asking price of £5m to take Tuanzebe on a loan deal.
