Having begun their Scottish Premiership season with a 3-0 win over Livingston, Rangers will now take on Malmo in the third round of the Champions League qualifiers on Tuesday.

The Scottish Premiership champions are hopeful of progressing to the next stage of the qualifiers, but are not taking Tuesday’s opponents lightly.

Speaking ahead of the game, goalkeeper McGregor revealed that he is aware of the threats posed by the Swedish outfit, having spoken to Gers team-mate and former Malmo star Helander.

Malmo are a good side“, McGregor told a press conference.

I spoke to Fil [Helander] who knows some of the players and knows of the quality.

McGregor feels Malmo will pose a difficult challenge for Rangers, but insisted that the Glasgow giants are confident going into the tie, having fared well in Europe in recent years.

It will be difficult.

“Malmo are a top team but the boys are confident especially after the last few years in Europe“, the 39-year-old said.

Following their clash on Tuesday, Rangers and Malmo will lock horns in the second leg of the tie at Ibrox next week.
