Rice has three years left on his contract with West Ham and the Hammers are determined to hold on to him.

West Ham even offered a new contract to Rice to further protect his value but the midfielder has turned them down twice.

The Hammers are yet to make a third offer but the 22-year-old is expected to reject it as well in order to keep his options open.

Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in Rice but West Ham’s asking price means the two clubs have not tabled bids for him.

The Hammers want £100m before agreeing to sell the midfielder, who was at the heart of England’s journey in the European Championship.

Chelsea and Manchester United need to sell players if they are to make a move for the 22-year-old this month.

Rice has returned to pre-season training and unlike his England captain Harry Kane, he will not be creating fuss behind scenes.

He is keeping his options open but is prepared to give his all for West Ham on and off the pitch.
