Lee Johnson’s side are keen to bolster their squad further before the transfer window slams shut and have been associated with moves for a host of players.
Sunderland are interested in acquiring the services of Jebbison on loan from Championship club Sheffield United and are hoping to push a deal over the line.
However, the Black Cats’ hopes of landing the 18-year-old striker have been dealt a blow as Sheffield United’s coaches prefer sending him abroad this summer.
Sheffield United’s staff prefer sending Jebbison abroad and are considering loaning him out to sister club Beerschot, who ply their trade in the Belgian top flight.
With the Blades pondering sending Jebbison to Beerschot, it remains to be seen if Sunderland can convince the club to loan the player to them instead.
Apart from Beerschot, Sunderland also face competition from League One rivals Doncaster Rovers and Burton Albion in the chase for the centre-forward.
Jebbison made four appearances for Sheffield United last season and went on to sign his first professional contract with the club earlier in the summer.
