With Edin Dzeko on his way to Inter, Roma want to bring in a new striker and have zeroed in on Chelsea’s Abraham.
They have now managed to thrash out an agreement with Chelsea for the player, according to Sky Italia, which will see just €5m paid immediately.
The remaining €35m to €40m will be paid over the coming seasons, making the deal one that the Giallorossi can afford. However, the purchase formula has yet to be signed off on and would be either a loan with an option to buy or a permanent deal.
Roma are now waiting to hear from Abraham about whether he is willing to make the switch to the Italian capital.
Arsenal also want Abraham and the striker prefers a switch to the Gunners, which would keep him in the capital, but they must sell Alexandre Lacazette to sign him.
Chelsea however would also prefer if Abraham went abroad in order that they do not strengthen league rivals.
Roma are prepared to give Abraham time to decide over making the move, but will not wait beyond Thursday or Friday, after which time they would turn their attention to alternative targets.
