Blackburn have made a decent start to their Championship season, winning against last season’s playoff finalists Swansea City and drawing against Millwall in their two games so far.

However, Tony Mowbray’s side have been largely inactive in the transfer window despite losing several players, including Adam Armstrong and are yet to make their first signing of the summer.

With only a little over two weeks remaining in the transfer window, the Ewood Park outfit are keen to step up their recruitment drive and strengthen their ranks.

Keen to bolster their defensive options, the Championship club have identified forgotten Manchester City centre-back Sandler as a transfer target this summer.

Blackburn feel the 24-year-old would be a valuable addition to their squad and are considering signing him on a loan deal from the Premier League champions.

Sandler, though, has entered the final year of his contract with Manchester City, making a loan move to Blackburn complicated.

Should the Dutchman put pen to paper on a new deal with the Citizens soon, a temporary move to Rovers could still be on the cards for him.
