The 20-year-old made his senior debut for Marcelo Bielsa’s side last season, coming on as a substitute 53rd-minute substitute in their 4-2 defeat to Arsenal in the Premier League.
Though Huggins did not make further appearances for Leeds, he featured in Bielsa’s Premier League matchday squads on eight other occasions last term.
Having made his senior debut for the Whites, the right-back is keen to catch the head coach’s eye and earn further playing time during the 2021/22 season.
However, the Yorkshire-based club are of the view that a loan spell or even a permanent transfer with the right terms is the appropriate next step for Huggins.
Leeds already have an offer from an unnamed Championship club for the 20-year-old, while Blackburn Rovers have also been credited with an interest in him.
Though the Whites have an offer from a Championship club on the table and Blackburn remain in the background, nothing is imminent for Huggins as of now.
The full-back has two more years remaining on his contract with Leeds, but he is rated as unlikely to be at Elland Road to see it through to its expiration.
