Leeds, who have also received an offer from Championship club Blackburn Rovers to take Huggins on loan, could feel the time is right to sell him.
Should the Whites decide to sell Huggins than loan him out, Sunderland could look to reach an agreement with the Premier League club over a six-figure fee.
Huggins is due to have a medical with the Black Cats today it is said that there is a chance a deal will be agreed before Sunderland’s match against AFC Wimbledon this weekend.
