James started in Manchester United’s 5-1 win over Leeds United in the Premier League on the opening weekend of the season.

With Jadon Sancho expected to start on Sunday, the Welshman is tipped to drop back to the bench against Southampton.

But the winger remains a key member of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad and Manchester United have steadfastly refused to sell him despite interest from Premier League sides.

Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa’s admiration of the 23-year-old winger is well-known, but it has been claimed that even Brendan Rodgers wanted him at Leicester this summer.

The Foxes put in an enquiry for James earlier in the transfer window as part of their plans to bring in a wide man.

But Manchester United made it clear that they have no intention of selling the player this summer.

James’ end-product is still suspect some feel, but Solskjaer admires the player for his attitude and work rate he brings to the squad.

The Welshman is set to spend a third season at Manchester United despite speculation over his future.
