Ronaldo is reportedly pushing for a move to Manchester City as he is keen to leave Juventus this summer.
Super agent Jorge Mendes has offered the former Manchester United star to the Premier League champions, but so far the Citizens have given no clear indication they want to sign him.
If he turns up at the Etihad before Tuesday it is likely to sour his relationship with Manchester United and their fans, where he won three Premier League titles and the Champions League.
But Solskjaer is not sure about the speculation linking his former team-mate with Manchester City ahead of Tuesday’s transfer deadline.
Asked about the talk about Ronaldo joining Manchester City, the Manchester United manager told Norwegian daily VG: “I do not read newspapers.
“I know how much nonsense is written there, anyway.”
It remains to be seen whether the worst fears of Manchester United fans are realised and Ronaldo dons the blue of Manchester City in the coming days.
He has a year left on his contract with Juventus and came on as a substitute against Udinese last weekend.
