The Bees secured promotion last season and are keen to retain their status as a top flight club this term.
As Brentford look to make a good impression in the Premier League, they have made significant additions to their squad with the likes of Kristoffer Ajer and Frank Onyeka.
With hours remaining in the transfer window, Brentford are keen to bolster their ranks further and have identified Copenhagen striker Wind as a potential recruit.
Thomas Frank’s side are said to have stepped up their interest in the Denmark international by making two offers to Copenhagen.
However, according to Danish tabloid BT, Copenhagen were quick to reject both the bids and want more than double Brentford offered.
Brentford’s initial offer was €6m, while their improved bid was in the region of €6.5m and talks have not resumed between the two clubs after the second proposal was rejected.
Copenhagen are claimed to also wonder whether Brentford’s move for Wind is a ploy by Midtjylland, the Bees’ sister club in Denmark, to get the edge in the title race
