The Scottish Premiership giants reached an agreement with Dutch club VVV-Venlo over the transfer of Giakoumakis

Celtic then edged closer to the signing of the Greece international after they thrashed out personal terms with the player. He was then due to undergo his medical at the weekend.

According to Inside Futbol’s John Georgopoulos, Giakoumakis has successfully completed his medical before putting pen to paper on a contract with Celtic.

Having signed a deal with the Parkhead outfit, the 26-year-old will now arrive in Glasgow on Wednesday.

The former AEK Athens hitman does not need to quarantine upon arriving in Scotland, has no issues with his visa, and is ready to hit the ground running for the Hoops.

Giakoumakis attracted late interest from clubs in Turkey and Saudi Arabia, but Celtic have managed to get their man without any hiccups.

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou will be hopeful that Giakoumakis can fill the void left by Odsonne Edouard, who is on his way to Crystal Palace.
